A Bró is an ancient stone used to grind grain.
One can be found on Millstone Mountain, which lies below the majestic Slieve Donard, in the Mourne Mountains, Co Down.

Born in 2016 by coffee lover & County Down pilates instructor Brenda Johnston & her hubby Michael, Bró Coffee was first conceived from the frustration of not being able to find a consistently, good cup of coffee from a garage or grocery store when Brenda was out & about.

Bró was launched in 2016 following a year of roasting trials with the aim of providing a luxury coffee brand for convenience retailers and coffee shops across Ireland. Five years on, thousands of  cups of Bró Coffee are brewed every week.

Bró At Home is a natural progression for Bró fans.

The same philosophy continues to drive the Bró At Home brand – creating a luxury coffee experience at home with a great range of locally roasted coffees.

Why is Bró different? As well as the passion of a family business to deliver the finest experience to your home, there’s a bit of science in it too. Stick with us here and we’ll keep it simple.

All our coffee is roasted locally in County Down, Northern Ireland. We use a special dual roasting process - combining two different roasting techniques, drum & convection.

Basically what this means for you the coffee drinker, is that the process removes more of the chaff from the bean to deliver a pure, smooth drink, without any gritty after taste.  Great taste, every cup, every time.

Bró are also the first company in Ireland to achieve fully compostable packaging. Both your grinds & bag are fully compostable. The kids call it Eco Bró. We like to think that we are green and black.
